BEING THE NEW kid on the block can be really hard – which is why people like this girl are so important.

Ten-year-old Rafael Anaya has just started school in California after moving with his family from Mexico. At the moment, he only speaks Spanish.
Noticing he often sat alone at lunch, his classmate Amanda Moore wrote him a note with the help of Google Translate:

It reads:
According to CBS, Amanda brought the letter to her mother Kimber to proofread before she gave it to Rafael – and Kimber was completely floored by her daughter’s kindness.

“Literally I’ve been crying ever since then because I thought it was the sweetest thing in the world,” she told the station.
Amanda’s note was a success, and after discovering Rafael was not only her classmate but her neighbour, the pair went off trick-or-treating together for Halloween.

CBS reports that Amanda and Rafael mainly communicate through drawings at the moment, but they’re working on learning each other’s languages.
No, YOU’RE crying.
